What a super show! Everyone rode well and the horses were exceptional!

On Friday, Alyssa Rhee got us off to a nice start with some good trips in the Adequan Hunters. Next, Brooke Van Nortwick won three out of four classes in the Pony Equitation Division and was Champion!

Kirsten Van Nortwick rode her Al Pacino in the Modified Children’s/Adult Hunters and placed eighth in the first class. I followed up with some rides on Al in the HITS Hunter and he earned a seventh and two eighths. Both the Modified and the HITS Hunters were large divisions with other twenty competitors.

On Saturday, Alyssa placed second in the USEF Medal and fifth in the VHSA Equitation on the Flat. Brooke and her Pret-a-Porter won a Large Pony Hunter Over Fences class. Kirsten and Al placed third in an Older Children’s Hunter Over Fences class and qualified in fourth place for the Children’s Hunter Classic the next day. Kirsten also placed fifth in the VHSA Children’s Medal. Morgan Van Nortwick was Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Equitation, with one blue, a second and two sevenths!

On Sunday, Kirsten placed second in the Older Children’s Hunter Under Saddle with Al. Brooke and Porter placed third in the Large Pony Hunter Under Saddle. Morgan and her Loriens Eagle Merit (Frankie) earned two seconds in the Short Stirrup Hunter. Finally, Alyssa Rhee won the VHSA Junior Medal and the Gittings Horsemanship Equitation.

The weather last weekend was phenomenal. We only had to contend with a little rain on Sunday, but otherwise it felt like late September instead of August. We had a great time and everyone learned a lot! Congratulations to our riders!
