I’ve been thinking a lot about our business model and what our mission is. We have such a passion for what we do, we want to make certain that others know it, too. Enthusiasm is contagious, and we want to share the “gospel” of riding and horsemanship with as many folks as possible.

During a lesson last week, I had an adult student tell me that her parents were terrified of her jumping. Any time she mentioned her riding frustrations or a mishap with her horse, they fretted and encouraged her to sell her horse.

Her response? “It’s life skills, Mom and Dad.” Dealing with challenges, overcoming obstacles (literally and figuratively), learning to communicate better… They are all issues we must learn to cope with and improve upon in all areas of our lives. How could you not want to be a part of that?

I am blessed to be able to help riders hone these skills and witness their personal growth every day I work with them. The benefits are endless. I need to make sure that everyone, from present students to prospective customers, understand all that riding offers, and how we can specifically develop those skills, and facilitate that wonderful progress.

Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing some more thoughts on this with you. Please feel free to submit your comments. It is my greatest wish that these random thoughts will help us create a more concise vision, beyond that of an average hunter jumper show barn. It’s a philosophy and a lifestyle. We hope you’ll join us on this journey.
