Today, as I was getting ready to start teaching, I looked out the window of my front door to see four of my high-school aged students going out for a trail ride on this beautiful Sunday morning. The horses were walking calmly by; all the riders were chatting as they embarked on their ride out to the “big field” which is a 30 minute hack away along the equestrian trails and the golf course. It’s a beautiful day for a ride and I’m so happy the riders are able to get out and enjoy their horses and that the horses are so well behaved. It’s a nice, albeit short, break from the hectic show pace we’ve had this year and it’s a great thing to be able to slow down and enjoy the day with a bunch of good friends and sweet horses, who are enjoying the day just as much as we are.
