This is a wonderful chance for new riders to learn about riding and managing horses. Unmounted activities will cover grooming, feeding, stall cleaning, how to safely lead and hand-graze a horse, bathing, parts of the horse, cleaning tack and much more. Riding sessions will cover basic position and steering at the walk and trot (canter if ready), and will include mounted games to help learn control and balance.

Camp participants will be required to wear long pants (jeans, jodhpurs, breeches), hard-soled shoes with heels (paddock boots or hiking boots), riding helmet - Riding helmets can be purchased for approximately $30 from State Line Tack, located in PetsMart, in Leesburg or Sterling.
